Project text:

To mark 2014, the Year of Science, and explore the topic The Digital Society, the MS Wissenschaft embarked on a tour in that year with a specially designed exhibition on board. For five months the ship sailed to 38 cities all over Germany and Austria. Every year, the floating Science Center of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research offers young people under 12 and families in particular fascinating insights into the state of research and science, focusing each year on a different topic.

In this case, the interactive exhibition A Digital Journey on board the ship looked closely the digitisation of our society, which opens up a previously non-existent global network providing brand new opportunities. The everyday situation and projects presented in the exhibition are designed to address a broad target group and raise their awareness of this thematic area. Using a large number of vivid and often interactive exhibits, the children and adults were able to learn more about the otherwise rather abstract topics in a conscious and sustainable manner.
