Gesa von Grote

Gesa von Grote is an architect and scenographer. After completing her studies in Architecture at the RWTH Aachen University, the École d’architecture de Paris-La Défense and Berlin’s University of the Arts, she worked for many years as a freelance interior designer. From 2010 she managed a renowned Berlin office for exhibition design, museum planning and interior design concepts together with exhibition maker Stefan Iglhaut. Since 2020, Gesa von Grote has continued to manage the office alone under the name von GROTE GmbH.

Carol Kofler

Dipl.-Ing. Carol Kofler studied Architecture at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and LTH Lund, Sweden. From 2013 on she worked as an architect in several offices in the field of exhibition, renovation and interior design. Simultaneously she worked as a scientific assistant and lecturer at the University of Innsbruck, Institute for spatial design (studio2) with focus design theory. Since August 2018 she works for von GROTE as an exhibition designer.

Elisabed Zautashvili

Elisabed Zautashvili studied architecture at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in Georgia. In 2019 she completed her Master of Design at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she worked for five years as an independent interior designer in Tbilisi, where she realized her own projects in a wide variety of areas such as handicrafts, graphic design and for the Senate Department for Culture. As an interior architect and exhibition designer, she now works as part of the team at von GROTE.

Daria Hannig

Daria Hannig studied visual communication at the Bauhaus University Weimar and film at the KASK School of Arts Gent. In 2022 she completed her master’s degree in design at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences and has since worked at von GROTE as an exhibition designer for graphics and conception.

Media Planning

Thomas Buck

Thomas Buck is a qualified engineer specialising in media technology. He focuses on the creative use of media and presentation technology in the field of museums and exhibitions, concentrating on interactive exhibits and information systems. He has been involved in all the office’s exhibition projects since 2003.

IT Infrastructure

Matthias Meier

Matthias Meier, together with his colleague Thomas Weisheit, supervises all matters of IT infrastructure, and is responsible for the administration of networks, servers and databases.

Translation

Lindsay Jane Munro

Lindsay Jane Munro lives in Berlin and works as a translator / interpreter and language teacher for English. We have created many projects together with her at von GROTE throughout the years, including the translation of this website.

Multimedia Development and Video Editing

Markus Uhl

Markus Uhl studied Social and Business Communication at the University of Arts in Berlin as well as photography at the University of Toronto. At von GROTE he is as a freelancer responsible for the creation and editing of moving and still images.

Architecture and scenography

Caroline Wegener

Caroline Wegener studied Architecture (Diploma) at the Bartlett School of Architecture, London and then gained an MA of Arts in Animated Film at the Royal College of Art, London. She works and has worked for various offices in the area of exhibition design and brand architecture. She has been working as a freelancer for von GROTE since 2011.
